Q: Do you recall any embarrassing moment at work?
A: Recently I rolled my ankle getting out of my office chair and could barely walk for the rest of the day. Office injuries are a tough one to spin when you work with technicians in the shop.
Q: If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Why Should I Choose Remanufactured?
April 21, 2017There are many different ways to go about getting your industrial equipment back in working order after a malfunction occurs. Saving money on replacement parts by not buying new ones is not a bad idea, but it does present you with a choice: do you buy recycled, repaired, restored or refurbished, used, or remanufactured parts?
While often used interchangeably, these terms each mean something different.
- Recycled – Reliability with these kinds of parts can be questionable, since they’re often removed from a scrap machine and resold with little to no work done to the parts.
- Repaired – A broken or worn-out part that has had just enough work done to it to be operational again.
- Restored or refurbished – A part with a cosmetic repair job that is meant for display only.
- Used – A part that has been used before, and is presumably in good working order. No work has been done to correct problems the part may have.
- Remanufactured – A part that has undergone rigorous restoration to like new condition and to match OEM specifications. The part is tested to ensure that it functions as a new part would.
Remanufacturing is clearly the best among these options. Here are four reasons to choose remanufactured parts when you’re looking to keep your equipment running.
5 Heavy Equipment Tips for Cold Weather
March 15, 2017With the Northeast getting blasted by winter storm Stella recently, we thought now would be the perfect time to share some cold weather operating tips for your heavy equipment. No matter which Eagle Power & Equipment location you live closest to, you’re blessed with cold and snowy weather that is hard on your machines (we’re still working on that Hawaii-Fiji-Bermuda store plan). Wheel Loader Maintenance Tips
February 27, 2017Today’s blog post is the first in a new series covering basic maintenance tips for heavy equipment. The goal is to save you downtime and repair expense by helping you keep your team informed about properly maintaining your heavy machinery. First in this series: wheel loader maintenance.
Maintaining your wheel loader is simple if you follow a wheel loader inspection checklist. It should cover all service points, including:
- Safety equipment & operator cab
- Engine
- Tier 4 CEGR
- Tier 4 SCR
- Cooling system
- Brake system
- Steering system
- Fluids & lubrication
- Hydraulics
- Electrical system
- Powertrain
- Miscellaneous additional maintenance
First of all, daily inspections alert the operator to potential breakdowns before they happen by revealing signs of wear and tear. The operator should check all fluids and do a visual check of tires, belts, and safety equipment. Pre- and post-use inspections provide an extra layer of safety that only costs a few moments each day.
Rent or Buy: The Heavy Equipment Dilemma
February 23, 2017One of the great debates in our industry is whether to rent or buy heavy equipment. Since this is a common struggle among our customers, we want to offer some advice to help you answer this question.
Below are some of the questions you should ask yourself to simplify the decision-making process. By the way, if you decide to buy, we’ll help determine whether you should look at new construction equipment or browse our inventory of used heavy equipment.
For how long, and how frequently, will you use the equipment?
- Obviously short term is better left to a rental, but even if you’re using the machinery part time, renting may be the best option. If it’s a recurring job over several months, or several jobs that require the same equipment, then purchasing is probably a better bet.

A: Family, I take great pride and pleasure in my family life. I am fortunate to have a family that is happy and healthy. I am extremely proud of my children, Rachel (age 14) and Collin (age 12). They are both excellent students and very successful in their extracurricular activities.
